Rock Cutting Machines: Loading and Upgrading

Keep machines occupied, collect finished materials and read upgrade costs before spending.

Quick answer

At home, use Place Rock to load an available machine, wait for Ready!, then collect the materials. Cutting... (Upgrade) identifies an active machine. Keep several machines working while you collect another batch.

4 sections

§Recognize an active machine#

Load a collected rock at a machine displaying Place Rock, as shown in the getting-started guide. Once cutting begins, the prompt changes to Cutting... (Upgrade), with the machine level and a remaining-seconds counter visible. The image below shows this active state.

Several machines can run at once. Fill available machines before another collection trip, then return to collect the Ready results. The 26s and 20s in this screenshot are remaining countdowns for this moment, so they cannot establish full processing times or a speed multiplier.

§Collect the Ready result#

Ready! replaces the timer on a finished machine. Use the nearby interaction prompt and check for material notifications. The recording shows different machines finishing at different times.

Do not treat the rock rarity as a guarantee of one particular material. The footage establishes the processing interface, but it does not supply a complete material probability table.

§Inspect the ROCK CUTTER panel#

The upgrade panel shows the current machine level, the next level and a cash price. One recorded example displays Level 3 moving to 4 for $160K. That is a dated observation, not a permanent price list.

Upgrade the machine you intend to use and recheck its level after purchase. If cash is insufficient, finish and sell another batch. The reviewed panel does not quantify every level’s speed improvement.

The panel also displays Uncommon, Rare and Elite rock icons at Level 3. Treat these as visible interface entries. A complete eligibility ladder and the next level’s accepted rocks require additional footage. The $160K example is a cash upgrade, and the screenshot does not establish a speed percentage.

§What continues while you are away#

The official description says players gain Power offline and machines keep cutting while they are away. This supports preparing a batch before leaving.

The current offline cap, storage limit and exact payout formula are unverified. On return, inspect the available results and the game’s own offline summary before estimating an hourly return.
